Health Requirements and Compliance
To support student well-being and ensure compliance with university and state policies, the 海角官方首页. Thomas requires students to meet the following health and education standards:
Requirements
- Health Insurance
All students are required to carry active health insurance throughout their enrollment at St. Thomas. - Vaccination
In accordance with Minnesota state law, all undergraduate students born after 1956 must be immunized against tetanus and diphtheria (TD or TDaP), and measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR). - Registration Holds
Holds may be placed on student accounts for incomplete immunization records or failure to complete required trainings.
Education
- Title IX: Undergraduate or Graduate Upstander Education
All new students must complete the Title IX Canvas module. This course addresses how to recognize and report sexual assault and provides information about support resources available on and off campus. - Undergraduate Upstander Education: Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Education
All incoming undergraduate students are required to complete the AOD Canvas module. This training helps students make informed choices regarding alcohol and other substances, including support for those who choose not to use.
Conduct Compliance
- Alcohol and Marijuana Sanctions Courses
Students who violate alcohol or marijuana policies are required to complete educational courses as part of the conduct process.

Excuse Notes Policy
The Center for Well-Being does not provide excuse notes for routine health or mental health appointments.
Students are encouraged to work directly with faculty or coaches to manage missed responsibilities—an approach that supports self-advocacy and aligns with national college health standards. This policy reflects our commitment to helping students build the skills needed to navigate both academic and personal well-being.
Immunization Requirements
All new undergraduate students must provide St. Thomas with two MMR vaccination dates, one TD (often administered as TDaP) vaccination date (within the last ten years).
Student Health Insurance Requirements
All 海角官方首页. Thomas students are required to carry health insurance coverage. Students who do not have health insurance through their parents may purchase policies through a Health Insurance Marketplace.
